We're proud to unveil the next two releases from TONEwood Tapes: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Deathray Bam!
The 5th and 6th tape from TONEwood will be Australian psych rockers King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's fourth 2017 album "Polygondwanaland" and Brazilian synthwave artist Deathray Bam!'s 2017 album "Blackk Mirror".
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have risen to global stardom (as far as "stardom" can be used in a niche genre like psychedelic rock) through a relatively short career - But short though it has been at this point, the road has been paved with numerous memorable albums. Polygondwanaland is the latest addition to the Australian ensemble's already impressive discography, and it is the fourth album just in 2017.
Though KGLW have been rather busy recording albums, the quality of their music isn't lacking at all. In fact, Polygondwanaland shows the group's internal dynamic and their ability to craft a unique psychedelic garage rock experience with flying colours.
King Gizzard have released Polygondwanaland as a free album, encouraging fans and labels to create and distribute their own versions. As such, this is TONEwood's tape version - limited to just 25 copies, to be sold at a no-profit price to fit the band's concept!

Synthwave is by now already a bustling but tight-knit community. However to some degree the genre is already being hit by the first wave of stagnation - But this is where Deathray Bam! comes in. This Brazilian artist combines a crisp 80s synth aesthetic with the darkness of traditional goth and drama and sound of new wave and synth-pop in one genre defying concoction.
Blackk Mirror is Deathray Bam!'s third release, but his first proper album. Originally released digitally in early 2017, TONEwood has now picked it up for physical release on fabulous 80s hot pink cassettes! Prepare for a dose of 80s synth with a twist that doesn't just sound like everything else out there.
