KILLING and ILDSTORM Tapes Out Now
Two new releases on TONEwood Music - TT14 and TT15 - are finally available.
Killing quickly got a lot of attention on an otherwise anemic Danish thrash metal scene in 2018 with the release of their debut EP "Toxic Asylum". The brand of thrash they brought to the table was - and remains - aggressive and modern, but deeply rooted in the classics. With their new single, Raise Your Anger, they up the ante in terms of insane vocals, great drumming, and ferociously catchy riffs. In other words, all you could want from great thrash metal. Put simply, imagine a combination of Reign in Blood, Extreme Aggression and perhaps a bit of Fabolous Disaster. Raise Your Anger, which also features a cover of the classic track Killing Time, is available in 70 handnumbered copies.
Ildstorm (Danish for Firestorm) is the raw black metal project from Killing drummer Jesper Skousen. He wears his influences on his sleeves, and his background in both metal and punk is obvious in the simplistic hooks delivered on Midnight Rehearsals, the band's hitherto sole release. Each track is permeated by a reverence for classics like De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, A Blaze in the Northern Sky and Antichrist, and is well worth a visit just for the gritty sound and pure aggression. Midnight Rehearsals is available in 50 handnumbered copies.
